Do you want a theme unit on bees that is comprehensive (to say the least) and covers every range of topic within that subject? Do you want a unit study that can be used for more than one student and for more than one academic year, with applicable activities and worksheets for Pre-K all the way up to mid-to-upper elementary? Then St. Aiden’s Homeschool Bees: A Unit Study is very much worth looking at!

St. Aiden’s Homeschool has put together a well-rounded, focused, and multifaceted curriculum all about bees. Fascinating little creatures with a big, complicated story to tell, this curriculum can easily stretch over a week’s time (or more).

The lesson begins with an in-depth narrative all about bees, their habitat, their diet, and their life cycle. Full-color pictures are strewn throughout. This can be duplicated for handing out to older children, or simply highlighted and explained to younger ones. Pen-and-ink illustrations of bee life stages and bee parts are no simple clip-art decoration.

Also included in this study are activities (explicitly explained) with printable sheets for each. A clever story is included to teach the different species of bees and their “relatives.” A full glossary isn’t skipped over, and there are a plethora of word searches, crossword puzzles, crafts, fill-in acrostic poems, songs, full lesson plans, and even honey recipes.
