A free weekly journal from 1st Step! #Hnmeschool

A free Your Weekly Journal from 1st Step is waiting for you at CurrClick! Just download and start.

This journal covers the week of Monday May 3-Sunday May 9. Each day starts with a question that the student thinks and writes about, exploring their life and ways to make it more wonderful. Then the student learns about interesting things happening in the world on that day, or about things that happened in history on that day. The journal helps the student connect up to the worlds outside and inside even as it develops understandings and skills in reading, vocabulary, history, geography and critical thinking. The 1st Step journal is designed to help improve reading skills in students ages 6-8.

Here’s what’s covered in this week’s journal:

Bing Crosby’s life and accomplishments; National Teacher’s Day; Cinco de Mayo; Karl Marx’ life and the birth and failure of modern Communism; Sigmund Freud and the birth of psychoanalysis; The life and works of Orson Welles; The explosion of the Hindenburg; The life and achievements of Willy Mays, one of the greatest of all baseball players; Poet Robert Browning’s work and life; Composer Tchaikovsky’s work and life; The sinking of the Lusitania; The end of World War II in Europe; The National Basketball Association’s playoffs; the history of Mother’s Day; the life of J.M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan.

It’s a great week! Your Weekly Journal has seven day’s worth of timely information and fun, hands-on things to do. There are no added materials needed. Use this link to go directly to the CurrClick page and download yours!

If you’d like the free Connect The Thoughts version (more complex language, ideas and exercises for students ages 9-adult), here’s the link to that version (same cover, but it is a more complex course).

We hope that you’ll sample our free Your Weekly Journal and get a look at what 1st Step and Connect The Thoughts can do for your students!
