Teachers Pay Teachers – 27830 Free Educational Downloads

From Paul Edelman, founder of TPT

This is our 100th 10 Free Downloads newsletter which means we’ve highlighted 1,000 great free downloads to help make your teaching life easier every week. To celebrate, I came up with a contest with $1,000 in prizes plus a $1,000 bonus for your favorite plus another $1,000 for our favorite. I guess that makes it $3,000 total!

The contest is to redesign our ‘It’s About Time’ banner, the one you see where we used to show ads. Here it is:

Your job is to make it even better. You can keep the same copy or create your own while maintaining the same or similar idea. The only acceptable size is 300×250 and you can post up to 3. Voting will end next Saturday, April 28th at Midnight PST. Submissions and voting happen on our Facebook Fan Page starting today. Here’s how:

The 10 banners who get the most LIKES on our Fan Page win $100 each and the one who gets the most LIKES wins a $1,000 bonus. We’ll then choose our favorite to place on the site and award that creator $1,000. We’ll reach out to all winners via FB to organize prize payouts. Spread the word on your blogs and have fun!

Free Vintage Santa Christmas Playing Cards and Games for Kids

Vintage Christmas Playing Cards

via Vintage Christmas Playing Cards.

vintage christmas cards

If you’re hosting a Children’s Christmas Party you might want to consider a few board or card games. This full deck of full color cards includes Jokers, and blank cards (if you’re feeling inspired). The cards are created using beautiful assorted vintage Christmas images from the public domain. Enjoy with our compliments!

Playing card games is a great way for children to learn a variety of basic skills, including counting, taking turns, basic strategy, and being a good sport. Here are some ideas for the best traditional card games for children. All of these games can be played with a standard 52-card deck. While these games are mostly aimed at the younger generations, people of all ages can join in.

Simply print all pages onto cardstock, laminate for protection and durability and cut out cards.  Fold on the dotted line and paste the front and back of each card together.  (Bonus here is that if you need more than one deck, just print two sets of the cards)

Full instructions for each game as well as variations are at the end of the book.

St Aidens Homeschool ~ Free Grammar & Vocabulary Printables Uploaded

Hello everyone,

A large number of updates have taken place at the all-new St Aiden’s Homeschool website.  The new look is not universal as yet but we’re working on getting it finished as soon as possible.  This will make for quicker loading pages, easier access to downloads and more user friendly navigational areas.

I’ll highlight but a few of the most recent updates where you can download free printables, worksheets, eBooks, activity books and resources.

St Aidens Homeschool ~ Grammar & Vocabulary Index.

This section is ideally suited to elementary and slightly older learners and encompasses inter alia vocabulary and
grammar exercises such as parts of speech, tenses, antonyms, homonyms, homophones and synonyms.

The activities and worksheets available through this website are by no means exhaustive, and many far more complex
words can be included in the activities for older learners who have a higher level of vocabulary/comprehension.
Exercises are ideal for student/educator interaction and perfect for homeschooling fun.

Fighting Pollution From Outer Space – Free Printables for Teachers/Parents

Fighting Pollution From Outer Space.

I’m going to present the information I have researched in fairly simple and child-friendly terms, since my aim will be to provide teacher/parent resources at the bottom of this lens page for parents or educators who would perhaps like to share the information with their students/children.

You will have seen by the title that this lens is about pollution – and trying to combat the problem -> from outer space!

Not all types of pollution are easily seen. For example invisible plumes of gas may drift over our towns and cities; they can cause asthma and a variety of other chest and respiratory problems.

Pollution can kill trees.

Pollution can kill animals.

Pollution can damage the air that we breathe.

Pollution can damage the very earth on which we live, the very earth that without which, we will not be able to survive..
